Caffeine (GL)

I can't remember who said that fine wine can drive away a thousand sorrows. But the taste of wine has never captured my palate. It's the strong bitterness of black coffee that has me utterly hooked. Maybe that's what people mean when they talk about love: a taste that feels bitter, yet one they can't bear to give up. I grew up surrounded by boys, in a family of businessmen and police detectives where almost all the children were boys. Though I knew I was a girl, and on the surface was just a girl who liked casual clothes, I still had the personality of a tomboy. Perhaps that was the source of a fateful encounter.
