[This Book’s Blurb]:
Shi Jing, a legend in the esports scene, died on the very day he won the championship.
If there was one regret in his life, it was that he never got to see his rival, Lu Zhiye, break down in tears upon learning that Shi Jing had won the title.
To his surprise, when he opened his eyes again, he had become a youth trainee with nowhere left to turn, who had taken his own life.
And this trainee was in the same club as Lu Zhiye.
Wasn’t this the perfect opportunity?
-
With him gone from the esports scene, everyone was certain Lu Zhiye would rise to the top and win the championship. The whole team at the training base were Lu Zhiye’s biggest fans, and every second, all Shi Jing heard was praise and adulation for him.
Looking at Lu Zhiye’s high-definition poster on the wall and the chibi Lu Zhiye figurine by his bed, Shi Jing vowed to make him remember the terror of being stuck in second place forever.
Then one day, Shi Jing accidentally wandered into Lu Zhiye’s room.
Inside, he found a whole pile of beautifully made boxes.
Keyboards, mice, mouse pads, headsets, even team jerseys and backpacks.
Without exception, they all had his ID printed on them: EVG-Zeit.
They were all things he had used. They should have been kept with his other belongings from when he was alive.
But now they were in Lu Zhiye’s cabinet, carefully stored and looking as if they were cherished beyond measure.

[Blurb for the Next Book, “I Rescued the Wrong Obsessive Villain”]:
Chen Chao transmigrated into a book, and happened to meet its protagonist, Ji Qingran.
This future titan was currently a pitiful little nobody whom no one paid any attention to.
Small and thin, dressed in rags, he didn’t make a sound even after being beaten until he was covered in injuries. His dark eyes were deep and stubborn enough to unsettle anyone.
Chen Chao couldn’t help rescuing him.
The child was simply too endearing, so Chen Chao decided to take him in and raise him by his side, helping him through this dark period along the way.
When the wealthy family from the book finally recognized Ji Qingran as their own, Chen Chao handed him over to his parents.
Everything went smoothly, except Ji Qingran seemed to have grown far too attached to him. His eyes red, he came to plead with Chen Chao, refusing to leave no matter what he said.
Chen Chao assumed the child was just throwing a tantrum and paid it no mind. After all, according to the plot, Ji Qingran was destined to rule an entire business empire.
After Ji Qingran left, Chen Chao could finally retire after a job well done and leave the plot behind for good.
He found a job at a bar overseas, and life was quite carefree.
He never expected Ji Qingran to come looking for him three years later.
The once well-behaved child had grown into a man, with an impressive build and a height greater than Chen Chao’s.
Under Chen Chao’s gaze, Ji Qingran lowered his head and smiled at him. “Brother Chao, long time no see. I’ve come to take you home.”
-
Chen Chao was taken back to the Ji family by Ji Qingran.
Even though Ji Qingran now had all the wealth and status he could want, he was still obedient and well-behaved, treating Chen Chao just as he always had. Chen Chao was both proud and happy to see the child he had raised become so successful.
Until one day, he discovered that he had rescued the wrong person all those years ago.
He hadn’t finished reading that book.
Ji Qingran wasn’t the upright, righteous protagonist. He was the book’s most vindictive, sinister, and cruel villain.
Later, Chen Chao saw Ji Qingran’s study, filled with photos of him. Awake, asleep, laughing with other people: everyone else in the pictures had been cut out.
And then...
Chen Chao turned around and bumped into Ji Qingran.
The latter spoke gently, his eyes curving into a smile. “What are you looking at, Brother Chao?”
Core theme: Pursue your faith, and never give up.
