Extra: The Mermaid Who Awakened Became the Marshal's Darling

[This is an extra chapter. Please visit the author's page.]

Coming soon: After I Hooked My Fated Alpha, I Ran; I'm Carrying a Baby Through the Apocalypse

Chi Shu has been expressionless since childhood, a little monster in everyone else's eyes.

The day after he awakens as a mermaid, his biased parents kneel before him and beg him to become the Marshal's guide, all to save his brilliant younger brother.

Li Yu, the Imperial Marshal and the empire's most powerful sentinel, has long suffered from a dangerously unstable mental domain.

The planet where he lives is forbidden to everyone else.

Rumor has it that any mermaid who treats him ends up either insane or an idiot.

With his life on the line, Chi Shu cautiously enters the mental domain of the notoriously vicious sentinel, only to discover that the treatment process isn't quite what he expected.

Why does the Marshal keep trying to take advantage of him?

"I-is it enough?"

Forced to wear a dress, Chi Shu blushed bright red and looked pitifully at the towering demon spirit before him.

The other man gave a soft laugh. "Just a little more."

The powerful sentinel drew the trembling little mermaid into his arms, carefully hiding the desire almost overflowing in his eyes and the writhing shadows behind him.

He coaxed the guide he'd teased until the corners of his eyes were red into giving him another kiss. "One more kiss and that'll do."

1. There are split-personality scenes early on.

Bai Jian was born with severe pheromone dependency, yet he is intensely repulsed by every alpha's pheromones. Even brief contact makes him feel sick.

Fortunately, medication can keep his condition under control, and his life is manageable.

That is, until he is assigned to an exploration mission jointly conducted by the Empire and the Federation. He discovers that he isn't repulsed by the pheromones of the Imperial team's captain at all. In fact, the gland at the back of his neck is growing warm.

On a pitch-black, rainy night, Bai Jian counts the pills he has left and realizes they won't last much longer. Gritting his teeth, he sneaks a glance at the jacket the captain accidentally left behind.

Just trying it on secretly should be fine, right?

*

Caught stealing it again, Bai Jian is pinned against a rough tree trunk.

"Captain Bai, what are you doing?" The usually decisive and ruthless alpha raises an eyebrow, his dark eyes fixed on Bai Jian. Bai Jian is so embarrassed that even his fingertips turn pink.

He digs his nails into his palm, closes his eyes, and struggles to maintain his usual cool composure.

He winds his pheromones around the other man's fingertip. "Want a bite?"
