Zhang Chutian, a rebellious disciple of the Celestial Masters' Mansion who has supposedly caused seven or eight of his masters to die since childhood, crosses paths with the eminent monk Zhao Wuxiang.
Zhao Wuxiang claims to be one of a bodhisattva's countless incarnations, and stubbornly insists that Zhang Chutian become his disciple.
The day they first met Master Wuxiang.
Zhao Wuxiang: You look just like the disciple I've never met before.
Zhang Chutian: The last person who said that is having a very peaceful time in heaven right now.
Zhao Wuxiang: Your master has a tough constitution. Heaven wouldn't dare take me.
After being pestered by Master Wuxiang for a week.
Zhang Chutian: I'll give you five million. Stay away from me.
Zhao Wuxiang: I'll give the five million back. Stay closer to me.
After being pestered by Master Wuxiang for a month.
Zhang Chutian called Wuxiang "Master" with heartfelt sincerity.
He waited for his master's relics, hoping they would leave him free of worldly concerns.
But he had long since lost his peace of mind.
