Later, Frost Toad learned that he was a blood slave.

Blood slaves are special Gu servants refined by the Gu Tribe. Bound by blood, they instinctively serve their masters once the contract is made and never waver. That is why blood slaves are known for their loyalty.

At the same time, blood slaves need their master's presence to nourish them. Once separated from their master, they suffer as poisonous Gu worms bore into their hearts, leaving them anxious and tormented.

Frost Toad made a blood contract with him.

From then on, he had a whole world: absolute obedience, never a hint of defiance.

1. The male lead has no name for the first few chapters. The author didn't deliberately leave it out: the female lead gives him his name later. He's roughly the type to be ruthless in how he handles people and affairs, but rather naive when it comes to feelings.

2. The female lead is not a virgin, while the male lead is.

3. The female lead doesn't care whether her targets are men or women. Anyone who gets in her way gets cut down, so don't read this if you can't handle women being killed.

4. Traditional xianxia, a high-martial-arts world, with lots of original worldbuilding.

5. The prose isn't classical in style and occasionally uses modern terms.

The female lead's name comes from Zhang Xian's "Xi Qun Yao, Banshe Diao": "The moon shines through the night clouds, its hazy shadow framed by painted railings." Frost Toad refers to the moon, or its breathtaking beauty.
