Wen Mofei is the youngest professor at A University and a celebrated genius in the world of mathematics. He's astonishingly intelligent and exceptionally handsome, but his eccentric personality and peculiar habits keep everyone at a distance. He's never dated anyone.
Bai Meng is newly unemployed, beautiful, and drowning in car and mortgage payments. Desperate for money, she spots an ad for an assistant to a professor at A University one day and eagerly applies.
She makes it through one round after another, beating over a thousand applicants, and finally gets the offer she wanted. Bai Meng is delighted, convinced she's exceptional, gifted, and practically the cream of the crop.
On her first day at work, Wen Mofei asks coldly, "Do you know why I chose you?" Bai Meng shakes her head.
"Because you have a middle part and two identical beauty marks beneath the outer corners of your eyes. They're very symmetrical. And your name is so unusual, so strange: Bai Meng, a dream in vain."
Bai Meng: "..." A stampede of curses rushes through her mind, but she puts up with it for the high salary.
There are plenty of other things she'll have to put up with.
For example, Mr. Wen's coffee has to be brewed with water at 92 degrees and drunk at 58 degrees. For another, the daily briefing she gives him has to be handwritten on A4 paper, with every letter the same size and not the slightest slant.
For example, when talking to Mr. Wen, she can't use the word "always" because it's too absolute. But she can't be too vague either, or he won't be able to pin down exactly what she means.
For example, Bai Meng can't change her hairstyle on a whim, add accessories, or carry a one-shoulder bag, because it's not symmetrical!
Bai Meng can take no more. She angrily quits, points at Wen Mofei during their farewell dinner, and yells, "You sick freak! You're insane!" Then, still seething, she feels like biting someone and accidentally kisses Mr. Wen by force.
Mr. Wen stands frozen in shock: "..."
That night, the usually haughty Mr. Wen walks Bai Meng downstairs and asks in a meek voice, "Could you... stay?" He's like a different person, as if all his quirks have rapidly improved overnight.
And so begins the era of Bai Meng "fixing" Mr. Wen...
