Before joining the Organization, Amuro Toru (Furuya Rei) already knew they had an ace, a woman codenamed Hennessy. Her status and skills were on par with Gin's, and she excelled at computers and sniping. She was a crazy woman.
When he joined the Organization, Gin asked him, "Are you good at looking after people?"
Amuro Toru: ?
He answered yes, looking confused. Then Gin handed him over to that crazy woman.
Amuro Toru: What does being good at looking after people have to do with Hennessy?
On his first day with Hennessy,
Amuro Toru watched in confusion as Hennessy chewed on her hand.
On his second day with Hennessy,
Amuro Toru hurriedly stopped Hennessy from using a kitchen knife to trim her nails.
On his third day with Hennessy,
Amuro Toru rushed to stop Hennessy from drinking freshly boiled water.
On his... day with Hennessy,
Amuro Toru finally understood why Gin had asked if he was good at looking after people.
What was with writing with toilet paper? What was with eating soap? What was with bathing in water nearly 50 degrees hot? (Thank goodness Amuro Toru heard the noise and checked on her, or Hennessy would have died!) What was with putting her shirt over her legs?!...
Amuro Toru, the old dad, let out a long sigh.
How had this woman survived before?
She was afraid of the dark (who would've guessed a member of the Black Organization was afraid of the dark?), and had to sleep with the lights on. When the power went out, the 21-year-old woman wandered into his arms, looking lost. Amuro Toru suddenly thought that this... didn't seem so bad.
Their dynamic was that she went on missions, and he took care of her.
Her status was on par with Gin's, and like Gin, she was a workaholic, the kind who worked 366 days a year. The Organization was always saying that Hennessy had picked up a pretty boy (?). The woman just smiled without replying and habitually chewed on her hand. The man cooking turned around and called, "Keep chewing your hand and you won't get any dinner!"
When he was arrested on suspicion of being an undercover agent (The Nightmare of the Pure Black), and Gin pointed his Beretta at him, Hennessy kicked the door open and aimed her gun at Gin's head. "Since when do you get to touch my man, Gin? Even if he's an undercover agent, I'm the only one who gets to deal with him!"
Amuro Toru: Damn it, why do I suddenly feel like a father watching his little girl grow up?
The woman rose onto her tiptoes and kissed the corner of his mouth. "Mr. Amuro, I like you!"
The corner of Amuro Toru's mouth curved into a small smile.
His woman was adorably silly.
