Only Three Months to Live

[Short BE Story]

Yesterday, I went to pick up my medical test results. The doctor told me I had late-stage pancreatic cancer and only three months to live.

On my first day as a cancer patient, after twenty-five years of being single, I suddenly felt like trying romance.

Dating an ordinary person wouldn't do. After all, I'd be dead in three months, and that would be terribly irresponsible.

After searching for a while, I set my sights on Yu Wei, who lives next door.

He's a notorious playboy in City A. None of his relationships with women ever last longer than three months.

That sounds perfect. We can both play the field, and neither of us will owe the other anything.

Message: Live toward the light, and face death with equanimity.
