Anjie Lina was found by Feijia in a dark alley swarming with rats near a sewer.
Before that, she had struggled in the lowest depths of the mire, fighting tooth and nail every day for a bite of black bread.
Though she believed in the God of the church, He had never appeared.
Not until Feijia reached out to her:
"Do you want a home?"
Anjie was afraid God would abandon her again. So she worked diligently, developed her ability, and devoted all her strength and wisdom to the Rats in the House of the Dead.
After Yi Wan told her, "A useless servant is ashamed to face God," she vanished after the great explosion, too afraid to show herself to Feijia.
Feijia, who had spent a whole month looking for her: ?
She met Feijia again in Yokohama.
Anjie Lina realized that her god was still either saving (destroying) the world or on his way to save it.
When she saw Feijia again, now a handsome young man, Anjie was horrified to discover that her faith had changed into something else.
*
Fei Aoduoer had had his eye on that little girl for a long time.
The legendary Demon's Dragon would bring even greater destructive power to the Rats in the House of the Dead, and he was determined to claim her ability.
He was still a boy himself, not yet an adult, but he personally raised that dirty, frail little girl.
He braided her hair, prepared her bedtime milk, took her to receive Communion and be baptized, and even gave her his surname.
It was all for a better future.
Fei Aoduoer told himself.
As always, he blessed her, absolved her, saved her, and punished her.
Until one day, he suddenly realized that he couldn't bring himself to condemn her, not even as a punishment.
"Even God cannot fault such a devout believer."
After they reunited, Feijia looked at the exceptionally powerful and mature young woman before him and fell into thought.
Was this really the little girl who used to run crying into his arms?
P.S. 1. This is my take on Dousi. Dousi = Fei Aoduoer = Feijia. There is a romance, but they may not end up together. True ending.
2. Includes manga content and spoilers. Anime-only fans, beware.
