After My Ascension Failed

Li Shu spent three hundred years leaping the Dragon Gate and transforming into a dragon, then another five hundred years cultivating with great hardship until she reached the Tribulation Transcendence stage. In nearly ten thousand years, she was the merfolk clan member with the greatest hope of ascending to immortality. On the day she underwent her tribulation, its clouds covered three hundred li of the Eastern Sea. Li Shu weathered the most powerful Eighty-One Heavenly Tribulations, only to fall to the final vow-lightning strike. The obsession and bonds bound up in that strike were so powerful that it far surpassed the Ninefold Heavenly Tribulation. It struck Li Shu, who had nearly set one foot in the immortal realm, into smithereens. Li Shu: Damn it! What vow? She had always been careful with her words. There was no way she would make a reckless vow!! * She never imagined she would open her eyes again. Looking at the unfamiliar yet vaguely familiar face before her, Li Shu finally remembered that this seemed to be the young husband she'd married when she entered the mortal world to cultivate five hundred years ago. When her time cultivating in the mortal world ended, Li Shu faked her death and escaped to sever her earthly ties and return to leap the Dragon Gate. Now, the young husband she'd abandoned had become the righteous sects' preeminent leader, admired by everyone. But why was this righteous leader behaving like a demon as he stood over a pile of bones?! * Duan Lingzhi gently stroked her face, his eyes brimming with delight. "Shushu, we're finally together again. Are you happy?" Li Shu was so happy she wept, gritting her teeth as she asked, "What did I vow to you back then?" Duan Lingzhi smiled tenderly. A mark of inner demons showed on his forehead, and his intense desire seemed to bind her like a net. He leaned close to her lips and whispered, "You swore you'd stay with me forever and never leave me." "But you lied to me." #After my failed ascension, I found out I owed a huge debt of love. Now my creditor has come to collect, and I can't even remember his name# * A male lead who appears righteous and unblemished but is rotten to the core x a female lead who only wants to ascend and focus on her career * Archived on Weibo, March 19, 2022 Theme: Treat others with sincerity
