Reborn: The Infinite Death Snow Screen

Every night after the computer monitor is switched off, it lights up again and again.

At first, Taozhi thinks there's a problem with the power strip. But after it's been repaired once, strange things begin to happen.

The thirteen-inch computer suddenly starts playing images on its own. Static flickers across the screen, frame after frame of terrifying scenes.

The next day, Taozhi finds herself inside her own computer screen, a character in those terrifying scenes.

Later, Taozhi relies on her acting skills to carve out a path to survival through the static-screen journey. Unfortunately, at the final level, her wavering resolve gets her killed by the System.

Reborn once more, Taozhi has made peace with everything. She thinks, Whatever happens, happens. She just wants to lie down and do nothing.

But on the very first day she tries to play the fool and keep a low profile, she runs into her natural enemy.

In her previous life, Yu Zhouyi was the head of the Players' Alliance and a hardcore gamer who pushed himself and his fellow members to compete in the game. In the future, Yu Zhouyi will become the first player to clear it, and is said to have won the grand prize of a fortune.

For now, though, this big shot is still a beginner who has just entered the game.

A white shirt, suit pants, and gold-rimmed glasses perched on his nose. He looks as pale and soft as a bun filled with pear paste.

The long-legged man walks over and politely offers Taozhi his hand. "Hello. Could you show me the ropes?"

Taozhi, who doesn't care about her life and just wants to be a lazy couch potato, has just finished roasting a potato she swiped from the NPC ghosts. She looks up, confused.

She warily glances at the man's firm forearm, then silently hands him the potato. "Hey, handsome, you can have all my food. Please leave me alone. I'm begging you."

Author's note: The idea came from chatting with my best friend one night. Her computer monitor was having problems and kept flickering. It was terrifying so late at night.

And so this static-screen survival adventure was born.
