One hundred and twenty years ago, a natural phenomenon that science could not explain arrived. In the space of a month, it completely and profoundly changed the world.
After that month, more and more people began to gain superpowers beyond the limits of imagination. The number of people with powers kept growing until everyone had awakened.
Humanity had entered a new era.
At first, people thought this was an opportunity for human progress. Everyone now had power enough to rival the gods, so what was left that could not be conquered or defeated? Then the cruel truth announced to the world that it was merely the last celebration before the apocalypse.
Over the past century, the world has been in turmoil. Disasters have grown frequent, food production has fallen, extreme weather has become the norm, and technological progress has gradually slowed. This is undoubtedly a new era, but not one of rapid development. It is a crossroads between life and death.
But at South China S University, Chu Huayang and Shi Lin are still carefree for the time being. They haven't thought about the major question of humanity's future, nor have they had a chance to give it serious consideration. Their biggest worries are no more than trivial little things.
But their good days won't last.
