An accident causes characters from the works of many great writers to begin invading the real world.
A sharp cat's cry rings out from Edgar Allan Poe's basement. Chekhov's Ward No. 6 is packed to the rafters. A mysterious man known as the Professor appears at a corner of Baker Street. A portrait of Dorian Gray hangs in Oscar Wilde's closet...
The Great Writers Rescue System: These characters will keep following and influencing their authors, generation after generation. That absolutely cannot be allowed! The authors have to keep writing. What kind of nonsense is it for them to be killed by the characters they created?
Geis, who has been approached by the System, says: But what does any of this have to do with me?
The Great Writers Rescue System: Do you remember your grandmother? The one with the surname Lovecraft?
Outside the window, the indescribable thing that came looking for him is about to rise from the sea.
Geis, remembering that he seems to have an ancestor who wrote the Cthulhu Mythos: ...
Geis: As an ambitious young man of the new century, I have a duty to save the great writers!
Every era sees the arrival of a certain person. He might be a psychiatrist, a detective, an adventurer, or a high-ranking nobleman.
But the great writers would rather call him the watcher who connects the stars of different eras.
He appears one day without warning, protecting you and the rivers, mountains, and seas that leap from the page beneath your pen, then quietly departs at some point.
When asked about him, he simply says, "Whenever you need me, I will cross time and space
"I will defend your thoughts, your feelings, your life, and your noble soul that rings clear and true."
Reading tips:
1. The great writers and famous works mentioned are real, from all over the world. It's fine if you haven't read them; you can enjoy this as an original fantasy with historical elements.
2. There are both popular and obscure works, and the protagonist's story has a touch of cosmic horror.
3. This is essentially a derivative work based on the author's limited, personal understanding. If it isn't to your taste, please stop reading. Thank you.
