Reborn as Consort De's Younger Sister (Qing Dynasty)

Yun Xiu was born into the past. She grew up in the Uya clan until she was thirteen, and only after entering the palace did she learn that her older sister was the famous Consort De from history. Historical accounts describe her as both biased and foolish. They say she was a mother driven to her death by her own son, Yinzhen, and call her a "madwoman." But Yun Xiu doesn't believe it. Her sister would ride and hunt with her, fly kites with her, and even sneak her out to explore the night markets behind their parents' backs. She was the best older sister in the world. # Life in the palace was stifling, with wolves circling all around. Though Consort De held a high position, she had nowhere to dispel the melancholy in her heart. Luckily, her younger sister Yun Xiu was often by her side. Fine dishes, delicacies, and all manner of curious amusements: Yun Xiu always had countless new things to show her. Consort De thought life like this wasn't so bad. The only thing that troubled her was this: palace maids could leave the palace and marry at thirty, so why was her younger sister still so clueless? Why did she keep insisting on being her senior maid for the rest of her life? # Reader's Guide: 1. Two female leads, Yun Xiu and Consort De. Yun Xiu's story follows her rise through the ranks of the palace maids, while Consort De's follows her palace intrigues. 2. The focus is on family affection. The sisters each have their own love interest; Yun Xiu's is Qing Fu. 3. The romance has its ups and downs. This is not a fluffy romance, but the plot is satisfying. 4. I have tried to stick to historical facts, but I'm no historian. [Historical accuracy enthusiasts, please read no further.] References are listed at the end. Theme: In everyone's life, there is always some warmth that belongs to them.
