The taciturn young man rarely showed his feelings. In a low voice, he said something that showed how much he trusted her: "Naib Subedar, your partner."

He wore a sand-colored trench coat, with brown hair and pale blue eyes. A gold-rimmed monocle rested on his nose. In a gentle voice, he said, "It's a pleasure to meet you. My name is Orpheus."

A few days later, the famous Orpheus Detective Agency opened in Tokyo. Its detectives had razor-sharp eyes and got straight to the point. They solved cases in no more than half a day.

The agency's members included the bestselling novelist Orpheus,

the high school detective Emma,

and Naib, a former mercenary who had spent years on the battlefield.

Tang Ci only wanted to survive in this dangerous world with her secret identities.
