Red Lipstick and a Black Cane

Blurb:

Su Ling is a famous streamer on a popular platform. With her fresh, beautiful looks and the irresistible charm of a girl-group big sister, she stands out from the crowd and has a million female fans.

She's also the dream girl countless fans go wild spending money on.

Su Ling casts her net wide and gets along swimmingly.

That is, until a friend introduces her to a job that pays well and supposedly isn't too tiring:

Dressed in a proper suit and playing the role of a sweet, well-behaved young woman, she becomes the live-in tutor to two rich kids.

When she meets their male guardian, who appears pushing a wheelchair, Su Ling looks regretful.

The man is tall and imposing, with an air of refined nobility. He's also a powerful capitalist from an esteemed scholarly family. It's such a shame that everything about him is perfect.

Xie Chao: "..."

Xie Chao: I only broke a bone in a car accident.

When Su Ling tells him she's quitting, she even spins a whole string of sweet words:

"Of course I'll miss the two kids. Xie Yun is clever and quirky, and Xie Nuo is innocent and proud. They're a little mischievous, sure, but they're both good children from the Xie family. To be honest, I really like them."

Xie Chao suddenly falls silent and looks at her.

In that moment, it's like a movie scene playing in slow motion, every second stretched out.

"So you'll miss Xie Yun, and you'll miss Xie Nuo."

"But you won't miss me?"

Su Ling: ?

"Others are trapped in the morning mist on the mountain. I am trapped in you."

Reader's guide:

1. One-on-one romance: a sweet, sharp-tongued streamer x a cool, aloof auction-house tycoon (screenshot taken on March 10, 2022)

2. A brainless, sugary-sweet story. Don't expect logic. Just because you haven't encountered something doesn't mean it doesn't exist.

3. The two children belong to the male lead's older brother, not the male lead.

Theme: How can freedom and love be reconciled?
