A Fine Day for the Golden Branch

The Crown Prince of Xihe arrived in Shengjing, the capital of Nanliang, with the Fifth Prince, and specifically demanded to marry a legitimate princess.

The emperor was in a bind. The eldest princess was his beloved daughter. How could he send her to suffer in that bitterly cold land?

The Crown Prince's marriage remained unsettled, but on the day of a banquet, the Fifth Prince happened to meet a little princess born to a noblewoman in the imperial garden.

With Xihe's formidable strength, the old emperor could only wave his hand and say, "Consider the little princess a gift, then."

Who could have guessed that the eldest princess and the little princess would lead utterly different lives after arriving in Xihe?

Yuwen He, the Fifth Prince of Xihe, lost the fight for the throne. As he lay dying, the only one to take a blade for him was the illegitimate princess he had brought back from Nanliang years ago, out of spite after a bet with the Crown Prince.

"This time, I was the one who failed to see clearly. The only person who truly cared for me was right in front of me, yet I was blinded by ambition and focused only on the throne. If only I could start over..."

A dream of splendor ended, and he awoke as his world came crashing down.

He had returned to the very day he first arrived in Nanliang.

This time, let's make things right...

Everyone said that Xihe's Fifth Prince was a living demon who could eat human flesh raw, and that the little princess would be walking to her death by entering his residence.

Who could have guessed that not only would the little princess be perfectly fine, she would also manage to tame that living demon?

Good heavens, could she be a bodhisattva come down to earth?
