Even the Most Heartless Can Be Captivating

If you knew your fate from the start, knew when and how your life would end, how would you spend the time you had left?

Some say, "Drink while there's wine today." If you know time is running out, drink the strongest liquor and fall in love with the most beautiful person.

Lu Xinghe's answer was much the same, except he planned to see the most beautiful scenery and pursue the most impossible person.

Xie Hanzhou, atop Kunlun's Huodie Cloud Peak, was a peerless sword cultivator. He was born with a cold and aloof constitution, practiced the Returning Abyss Sword to renounce worldly ties, and cultivated the Empty Heart Method, which taught him not to be swayed by either gains or losses. By all accounts, he was the person in the world least likely to fall in love.

Having reached that conclusion, Lu Xinghe decided to pursue him.

For three reasons:

First, Xie Hanzhou was famous throughout the world, and pursuing him fit Lu Xinghe's resolve to live a thrilling life while making every moment count.

Second, Xie Hanzhou was handsome enough. Even if Lu Xinghe got rejected, he could still say, "A youth without romance is no youth at all."

Third, Xie Hanzhou was as unyielding as an iron wall. That made him an easy target to pursue without feeling guilty, and ensured Lu Xinghe wouldn't accidentally lead him on.

In the short but brilliant life he expected to have, Lu Xinghe wanted a convenient person he could pursue without worry. The other person didn't even have to respond. He would simply enjoy a taste of youthful recklessness.

And Xie Hanzhou was exactly the convenient target he had chosen.

So the news spread far and wide overnight. Lu Xinghe had said it himself.

He had fallen in love with him at first sight.
