In every world, there are different versions of you.
Perhaps, in some world, you don't exist.
When you can glimpse another world, who can say whether that glimpse is a blessing or a curse?
Only Dazai can see Oda. That Oda lives in a world with no supernatural abilities and no Dazai.
In one possible world, everyone lives in peace and safety. There are no supernatural abilities here, so Nakajima Atsushi never turns into a tiger, Chuuya never bears the burden of an explosion, Akutagawa Ryuunosuke never sinks into the gutter, Kyouka never loses her parents, and Oda Sakunosuke never falls into darkness and meets his death.
Everything is so wonderful!
Ranpo slowly learns to accept this clumsy world under the care of his parents;
Nakajima Atsushi and Akutagawa grow up together, supporting each other since childhood;
Chuuya often feels like an unnecessary extra around his older brother and sister-in-law;
Mori Ougai and President Fukuzawa join forces to build a place where these children can grow.
But Dazai doesn't exist in this world.
And everyone is waiting for the day Dazai returns.
· This idea suddenly came up while chatting with a friend. I was also exhausted from getting my heart broken by the Beast world, so I put together this story. The setting is based on The Restraint, with some light crossover elements that won't affect your reading.
· The main pairings are Dazai/Chuuya, Akutagawa/Atsushi, Fukuzawa/Mori, and Poe/Ranpo. More may be added later.
· I'll update daily once I have 100,000 words ready. With no backlog, updates may be irregular, but I will never abandon the story.
· This is a practice piece focused on everyday life and emotions. I'm probably writing it to feed myself, so please check the pairings before reading. I really can't handle Fyodor/Dazai or Nakajima/Akutagawa, ahhhhh!
· OOC is my fault. This is a possible world, and anything that doesn't fit the original is an AU.
