My other novel, Finding a Partner in the 1970s [Book Transmigration], is complete!
Coming soon: Searching for Memories in Period Fiction [Quick Transmigration], Rejecting the Self-Sacrificing Saint [The 1970s]
A recommendation from a fellow author: this Period novel has a nice backlog. A Great Beauty Comes to the Family Compound [Period] by Liuliuzhu
Blurb: When Yan Yi wakes up, she has returned to 1972.
Her family hasn't gotten into trouble yet, and she hasn't married from one courtyard house to another. She hasn't become a disgusting substitute, admired for her glamorous facade while hiding a rotten interior.
She is still in her prime, a high school student.
She has countless opportunities to change the future.
So the first thing she does after returning is cut off the golden finger of the supposed female lead in the book.
In her previous life, the female lead bullied and deceived her, tricking her out of her family's heirloom jade gourd. Only later did she learn that the jade gourd was a magical space, complete with immortal mountains, waters, and ten thousand mu of enchanted farmland, as well as storage. It let the female lead rise to success and marry a wealthy tycoon.
Yan Yi, whom the female lead had deceived, received no gratitude. Instead, the woman tricked her into marrying her infertile brother. Yan Yi worked herself to the bone for their family and even ended up raising the female lead's ex-husband's son.
Her life was nothing but despair and sorrow.
Reborn, Yan Yi sees through that family's true nature. She stops obeying them and going on blind dates with the people they choose. She takes back what belongs to her and changes the fate that had separated her from her family by thousands of kilometers.
Then she marries into a crowded courtyard compound.
The courtyard compound is full of people, and even more trouble.
No one expects that one day, a pampered young lady from a courtyard house will move in.
Everyone wonders how long she'll take to get sick of the place. They all wait to see her make a fool of herself and leave.
But they wait and wait, until the compound's manager, a man in his fifties, gets divorced, and Yan Yi still hasn't.
Instead, after marrying into the compound, she enjoys an increasingly comfortable life and grows more and more pampered.
She lives even better than the young ladies from rich families used to.
Yan Heyu hurriedly retires from the military and rushes to a teahouse, eager to meet Yan Yi for a blind date.
But he's still too late.
She's finished the date and left.
He thinks he's missed his chance with her again. Then she comes to him and asks, "Would you like to get married?"
Yes, of course he would.
He nearly thinks he's dreaming again.
Reader's Guide:
This is a fictional setting. Some details have been changed in advance to suit the plot.
Though some place names and people's names resemble real ones, the setting is fictional.
Regional comparisons are included to advance the story and imply nothing else.
Marriage first, love later. Domestic life and family squabbles, with a slower pace.
There is a reason the male lead doesn't appear in the heroine's previous life. He loves only the heroine, both in his previous life and in this one.
I hope you enjoy it. If you don't, please quietly move on. I'm begging you.
Updates at 9 p.m. There may be updates at other times depending on how smoothly the writing goes that day.
I'll fix typos as I find them.
Coming next: The Provincial Capital Bride of the 1970s
Yu Yin transmigrates into a melodramatic Period novel and becomes a timid supporting character who is about to have her engagement swapped with that of the reborn heroine.
The man she'll marry has a frail widowed mother and a sickly young nephew.
He's a soldier who can only send money and is away from home all year.
Though the family has urban household registration, with no man around to support them, the elderly and children are just waiting for her to come and serve as their nanny.
Nobody approves of the marriage, and the supporting character doesn't want to be a lonely wife either. But after her parents accept the betrothal gifts, she is forced into the marriage and dies of depression.
When Yu Yin transmigrates, she's being pressured to marry, and her relatives insincerely claim it's a good match.
Yu Yin: ...A man with money and children, and I don't have to wait on him? What a deal!
Yu Yin, worn down by the 996 work schedule: Enough said. I'll move in right away. By the way, should I bring some local specialties to the city?
After being reborn, her cousin's first move is to swap engagements with Yu Yin.
In her previous life, she didn't know any better and thought being a city dweller was the greatest thing in the world.
But Yu Yin, who married a country man, did nothing and eventually became the wife of an agricultural tycoon. Meanwhile, her capable, hardworking cousin was stuck serving an old couple and their children, living as a lonely wife and forever coming second to Yu Yin!
How could she let someone as useless as Yu Yin enjoy such a good life for nothing?
She vows to marry well this time. Yu Yin can have that city household registration!
Yu Yin: This kind of luck really exists?
Cousin: Fool. She's just as dazzled by city household registration as I was.
Let's see how this useless Yu Yin manages to live an even more miserable life than I did after marrying into that family.
But...
While the cousin rises before dawn and stays up late serving her in-laws, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, and the rest of the family, Yu Yin is cherished by her mother-in-law and nephew.
While the cousin urges her husband to find a job and start saving, Yu Yin has already become a saleswoman at the state-owned department store, one with all the best perks. Her relatives crowd around to flatter her, and even her husband's family comes seeking her favor.
When the Reform and Opening-Up arrives, the cousin dreams of her husband becoming a tycoon. By then, Yu Yin has already become a well-known little rich lady, and that man has returned!
The cousin breaks down!
Where did Yu Yin get all her good fortune?
Why are the mother-in-law and nephew who were cold to her in her previous life so kind to Yu Yin?!
After narrowly escaping death, Pei Zhan expects to see the horrific scene from his dreams, with his family ruined. Instead, he is stunned.
His wife has been replaced by a sweet-looking woman with a gentle, generous nature. She doesn't seem like a member of the Yu family at all.
She doesn't despise him after he returns gravely wounded, nor is she afraid of his cold, distant, taciturn manner. She kindly arranges a separate room for him and takes care of him.
His little wife is wonderful, but she never seems to remember to move him back into the master bedroom...

Theme: Strive upward and build a prosperous, democratic society.
It's too pretentious. You can get married even if you go on a blind date with a stranger. The missing five years makes the hero and heroine shrink back.
The plot is too slow, and the work is also slow. I came here because of the jade gourd. I feel like the author just made up the word count.
After watching it, I think it's just so-so. The whole process is mostly about top quality.
For the sake of the plot, the thinking is too rigid. If you live in someone else's house, you will think that you are bringing treasures to other people's homes. If you are not married, you will still think that treasures are brought to your husband's house as a dowry.
The new article next door "Daughter-in-law from the Provincial City in the 1970s" is now available! Recommended author's other completed works: I'm looking for a partner in Qiling [Puishu] After the awakening of the heroine in period novels [1970s] The comparison group of heroines in the age of rebirth [1970s] ? The fiancée in the chronological novel [Puishu] Being tricked into the 1970s by the system [Puishu]
The article is written very slowly, and the plot develops very slowly and drags on, making it difficult to watch.
Didn't the heroine keep everything in the space? Why are parents still being reported?
... What about the ending of the female supporting role???? Where are the heroine's parents and brother?
This book is a mess. The heroine's character is really unpleasant and inconsistent. I gave it up.
Will the heroine live under the same roof as Shi Qingyan in the future? Just thinking about it makes me sick
