Qi Ling and Yu Ke grew up together, rolling around in the mud as kids. In the end, one became a carefree troublemaker and the other a steady problem-solver; one made a mess and the other cleaned it up.

Qi Ling never thought Yu Ke could be in love with him.

The confession came out of nowhere. Just a second earlier, he had been retching in Yu Ke's luxury car.

The next second, Yu Ke asked, "Could you be pregnant?"

"First of all, I'm a man. Second, I haven't gotten lucky in months, and you know that, right?"

Of course Yu Ke knew Qi Ling was a womanizer. He'd been celibate for the past few months because he'd been too busy, but...

"You forgot that time we had."

"Wha... urk-"

"You drank too much that day."

"What?? Urk--"

"Qi Ling, I love you."

After ruining a luxury car worth several million, Qi Ling promptly ran for it. He thought Yu Ke had lost his mind.

A few days later, Qi Ling's hand trembled as he held the results of his prenatal checkup.

After inexplicably getting pregnant, Qi Ling was pampered by his childhood friend like he was a household god, the kind you offer three sticks of incense to every day.

"Do you think I'm a hen that lays eggs?"

"You need to take it easy."

"You don't have to take responsibility. I can raise the kid myself, so get lost. Don't force yourself into a relationship with me."

"No matter how many times I say it, my answer's the same."

Yu Ke picked up the shoe Qi Ling had kicked away because bending over was difficult, then helped him put it on.

"I love you. Nothing else matters."
