I Want a Male Priest Who's a Mom

[A practice piece while getting back into writing. Please forgive any shortcomings, mua~] The High Priest was gravely wounded in the holy war against the Demon Lord. It was the perfect opportunity to tempt him into falling from grace. Yun Ziyou accepted the mission assigned to her. She went to the small town where the High Priest was recuperating, posing as his long-lost student, and began her campaign to tempt him into corruption. But the High Priest was a saint, a truly good man. He took meticulous care of Yun Ziyou, taught her advanced spells, stood up for her and taught the academy bullies a lesson, mended her torn clothes, and cooked delicious meals. Even when demons came up in conversation, he showed no disdain, saying only that they had different allegiances... Yun Ziyou had never known the love of parents, but the High Priest made her feel the great, motherly compassion and acceptance she had always longed for. Moved, she decided to abandon her plan to corrupt him. One night, Yun Ziyou decided to leave quietly. Little did she know that she would lose consciousness just after leaving. When she woke, she was in a confessional, back in her true demon form, with her hands and feet bound. "Do you want to leave me?" Half of the High Priest's handsome, holy face was lit by the moonlight, while the other half was lost in darkness. His voice was as clear and cool as holy spring water, and the divine statue behind him seemed to be weeping. Yun Ziyou honestly confessed her identity and purpose, explaining that the High Priest had changed her heart and she had decided to give up on the plan. "So that's how it is..." The High Priest smiled warmly. "A good girl deserves a reward for learning the truth. The Demon City knew I wasn't injured and had no students, yet they sent you anyway." Yun Ziyou was stunned. "What?" The High Priest gently stroked Yun Ziyou's cheek, as if bestowing a blessing upon a believer. He had grown up in a filthy, corrupt temple, yearning for true light. At last, on that battlefield, he had seen a pure and dazzling light unlike anything he had ever known. The High Priest undid the bindings around Yun Ziyou's hands and feet, then delivered the cruelest words in the gentlest voice: The Demon City betrayed you and abandoned you. You have no home, but you... still have me. Just as he had expected, she threw herself into his arms. The High Priest lowered his eyes and gently stroked the sobbing girl, holding her close. He had done everything in his power to make her come to him of her own accord. How could he let her leave now... 2022/3/2 Theme: You never know what's in someone's heart by looking at their face. It's easy to be fooled by a pretty face.
