After I Deleted My Account, They Regretted It Too Late

If you keep walking by the river, sooner or later your shoes will get wet.

Any player will eventually get tricked and fleeced a few times, like being harvested as some kind of leafy green.

As a hardcore player who both grinds and spends, Elexis became the ultimate sucker.

Beautiful, useful character cards? They defected.

Insignias she'd grinded for until she went bald? Locked.

Affection she'd slowly built up? Wiped clean.

Looking at her now completely grayed-out collection, Elexis grew furious, then reckless.

If she couldn't beat them, she could at least run away. She wasn't sticking around anymore.

She steeled herself, wiped out everything she'd accumulated over years of playing, and quit the game without a second thought.

But when she opened her eyes again, she was in the camp she'd just cleared out, with a useless little straggler beside her.

Elexis: Well, well. From the start, it's just me and a dog, huh?

Messiah: You don't have to put it that way... Woof.

Fine.

When that human test subject survived against all odds and returned to her camp, all the experimental subjects thought that the human, who had lost every test subject and spent all her money, would quietly disappear into the darkness in just a few days.

Yet while they smugly waited for the darkness to swallow her, they discovered that

They were the ones being swallowed.
