The Forensic Investigator of Strange Cases

Forensic intern Yu Xun is lazy and picky about his work, and looks unlikely to make it through his internship.

Because strange cases have been happening frequently, with people dying right on schedule every first and fifteenth day of the lunar month, the municipal police bureau hires Su Jingchen, a specialist from a special department, as a criminal investigation consultant.

Su Jingchen is shameless, sharp-tongued, ill-tempered, and downright strange, yet he takes an inexplicable liking to Yu Xun:

"Don't know the case details? Read your supervisor's report aloud!"

"The body's badly decomposed? Don't go near it. Let the forensic examiner handle it!"

"Sleepy? Come rest your head on my shoulder. Want me to sing you a nursery rhyme, too?"

Yu Xun is as indifferent as a cup of tea, taking things as they come, until a human-skin lantern lights up and his expression turns grim.

A voice follows him to his ear: "Someone asked me to ask you: How does it feel to watch people die one by one?"
