Striving in a Mary Sue Novel

Coming next: Being a CEO in Mary Sue Fiction. Thanks for all your support! Xue Xiu was born into a powerful clan. As the eldest legitimate son of the Xue family, he bore a heavy responsibility, and the Wang clan was also vying for power with him. The court was rife with power struggles, with a foolish emperor on the throne and turmoil both within and beyond the borders. Xue Xiu thought he was destined to take the path of imperial examinations, governing the country and bringing peace to the land. He never imagined there was something seriously wrong with this world. A woman appeared out of nowhere, and countless men fell at her feet. First, a prince divorced his wife, only to regret it. Then an enemy prince offered up a city just to marry this woman. Even our own crown prince got involved. The three schemed against one another for love, not country. With an heir like that, the realm was doomed sooner or later. Xue Xiu had no choice but to plan for his clan's future. As luck would have it, he met the Prince of Jiangling. Joining the righteous cause was the better choice. He would support the Prince of Jiangling, unite the Xue and Wang families, and defend against foreign powers, all in the hope that future generations would enjoy peace and prosperity. Though I was born insignificant, I will still ascend to the highest heavens. Thanks to Bixi Gugu for the art. P.S. This is a slice-of-life story, with fewer political machinations early on. ★ Slay the Immortals ★ [More or less a Myriad Realms story] Xue Xiu discovered by chance that the calamities plaguing the mortal world for five hundred years had begun when gods and immortals descended to undergo trials of love. First, the Heavenly Grandson descended to the mortal realm. Then a goddess entered the world. The immortals underwent their trials, and mortals suffered. When Xue Xiu disrupted their plans, the Heavenly Grandson and the goddess flew into a rage. Just then, a pitch-black gate loomed among the clouds. When Xue Xiu stepped through it, he found another little world beyond. Its resources were abundant, and everyone who came and went was a cultivator. After enduring countless trials, Xue Xiu met an Immortal of the Mortal World. The Immortal of the Mortal World told him, "In my hometown, there's a legend. In ancient times, there was a Celestial Court in the heavens, ruled by the Jade Emperor, and its gate was the Southern Heavenly Gate..." To slay the immortals, Xue Xiu set out to find the Southern Heavenly Gate. In time, he met the Third Prince, whose true form was a lotus root, and a monkey with a furry face and a thunder god's mouth... When the Heavenly Grandson and the goddess descended to punish the mortals, they thought humans were no more than ants, easily crushed with one hand. Until they saw the furry monkey with a thunder god's face, and a man with three heads and six arms. The Heavenly Grandson and the goddess: ...!!! Xue Xiu stood in midair, pointing his sword at the heavens. "I have a sword strike. Please, instruct me." Those who bully or humiliate me, even if they are Heaven itself, we mortals dare to challenge. Born immortals, they brought calamity to the common folk. The common folk can overturn the world, too. May all the world's troubles be swept away, and peace and prosperity restored to the people. Please bear with it, everyone. Crying soy bean (wipes sweat). Theme: Striving toward one's goals
