I Save the World by Writing More

After winning all three of the country's major acting awards, Best Actress Xu Zhimeng began preparing to direct and star in her first film.

For the female lead's second role, she had her eye on the rising star Ruan Youyou, who had recently been trending for her outstanding tearful performances.

But before Xu Zhimeng could send her an offer, Ruan Youyou rushed into her dressing room with a cat in her arms.

“Please fall in love with me, or our world will disappear...” Ruan Youyou bowed with tears in her eyes.

Xu Zhimeng was glad she hadn't sent the offer yet. After all, casting an actress with mental health issues wasn't exactly a good idea.

Still, she really did look beautiful when she cried... What a shame.

“I know you won't believe me. I can prove it. In three seconds, the thing you love most in this room will disappear for one minute!”

Three seconds later, the cat in Ruan Youyou's arms vanished into thin air.

Xu Zhimeng: ???

Ruan Youyou: ???

That day, Xu Zhimeng learned that the world they lived in was an unfinished book, categorized as yuri and tagged as a sweet romance.

Whenever the green screen descended, she had to meet up with Ruan Youyou immediately and start dating, until enough words had appeared on the screen and they had received enough likes.

In the middle of filming, between variety-show segments, on the highway, on a mountaintop at three in the morning...

Under the green screen, Xu Zhimeng and Ruan Youyou gave their best performances to save the world, diligently playing at love.

Once the screen was satisfied and disappeared, the two of them would drop their act and part on friendly terms wherever the light couldn't reach.

But one day, Xu Zhimeng suddenly felt that something was wrong.

The screen had clearly disappeared, so why was her heart still beating so fast?

Even where the light couldn't reach, love was still surging...
