Bai Lizhu has designs on her disciple.
It's not just because she's lustful. More importantly, she covets the spirit bone in his body.
Bai Lizhu is an obscure artifact craftsman in the demon realm. The job has plenty going for it, except that she often has to deal with dead people's bones. The spirit bones left behind by powerful demons are precious materials for crafting artifacts.
One day, Bai Lizhu hears that the last crystal dragon in the demon realm was struck dead by heavenly lightning while undergoing its ascension tribulation, leaving materials scattered everywhere. She rushes to the scene to collect them, but halfway there, she picks up a powerful demon and takes him on as her disciple. He's handsome, strong, and, most importantly, carries a spirit bone. He's half-dead and has lost his memory, too.
Every day, Bai Lizhu wonders when her disciple will die. Once he does, his body... no, the spirit bone inside him will be mine.
But she waits and waits, and her beloved disciple not only survives, but transforms into the supreme Dragon God of the demon race.
Suye thinks this inexplicably appearing master of his has designs on his body.
The first time they met, she tried to take advantage of him.
When he was gravely ill, she took advantage of his unconscious state to touch him all over, as if she wanted to feel every bone in his body.
Later, she tells him that she has another person in her heart, her one and only, and that she doesn't like him at all.
What? She wants to use him and then dump him?
If she wants his spirit bone, fine. But she can't touch him and then refuse to take responsibility for it!
Wait, her one and only is actually me?
Oh my, the Dragon God bolts upright from his deathbed.
Help me up. I can't die yet!
Reader's Note:
1. The romance is the main focus, with a chaotic mix of ridiculous comedy and melodrama. Around 200,000 words, mostly sweet, with a happy ending.
2. Important: The female lead is not powerful.
Coming next: I Was Forced to Ascend the Throne on My Wedding Day
Synopsis:
Xiao Hanguang is a princess of Southern Chu who must remain hidden from sight. Since childhood, she has been confined to the Apothecary Nunnery to pray for the Great Chu dynasty, deprived of her freedom.
At the nunnery, she meets a young general recovering from his wounds. They try to elope but fail. A man of deep loyalty, the young general returns home and asks the imperial family for the princess's hand in marriage. After many twists and turns, she finally gets to leave the nunnery and marry him.
On the eve of their wedding, the old emperor and the crown prince pass away one after another, and the Great Chu dynasty is thrown into turmoil. Xiao Hanguang is forced to fake her death, disguise herself as a man, and take the throne in her brother's place.
Becoming emperor was never her wish, but since she's already on the throne, she might as well settle accounts with all those schemes and sins.
The court is beset by internal and external troubles, with powerful ministers holding sway. Xiao Hanguang bides her time and, after great effort, reclaims power. Looking around, only one powerful minister remains in court: the very man who was once meant to become her prince consort, before their marriage fell through.
Song Haiyan spends his life fighting for Chu, repelling foreign tribes in the north and suppressing rebellions in the south. Through turbulent times, he protects half of the Great Chu dynasty's territory. He rises to the rank of grand general, commands four provinces, and wields immense power. His advisors urge him to act, warning that his achievements have made the emperor wary of him, and that he should seize power sooner rather than later or be brought to account eventually.
Song Haiyan agrees wholeheartedly. His only problem is that the person on the dragon throne is, when you think about it, the wife he never got to marry, who supposedly died before she could enter his household. Perhaps he should simply climb into the imperial bed tonight and ask what she plans to do with him, her widower.
