The Rebel General and the Calamity Concubine

Everyone says Lu Yuemian is the disastrous concubine of the Southern Liang, a seductress who bewitched the emperor. Only she knows she's just a pawn used to cover up his shame.

The emperor of Southern Liang prefers men and is cruel and violent. To silence the murmurs of the court, he chose the meek, tight-lipped daughter of a secondary branch of the Lu family as his Noble Consort, lavishing her with every honor.

Lu Yuemian's life was comfortable enough, until the ministers submitted a joint petition demanding an heir. As she smiled and watched the show, she received an imperial decree ordering her to conceive within three months.

Lu Yuemian: Oh, wow.

Situ Yunji is the heir to the Marquis of Weiyuan in the kingdom of Xiyu. Disguised as a destitute boy selling himself to pay for his father's funeral, he goes to Southern Liang to gather information, only to be bought by a pampered young lady from a wealthy family.

She treats him wonderfully, providing him with food, clothing, shelter, and boundless tenderness. She takes care of his every need.

He originally thought that once his mission was complete, he might as well kidnap her and make her his heir's consort. But before his mission was even halfway done, she disappeared.

Abandoned, Situ Yunji: ...

When they meet again, he is an enemy general leading his troops in an assault on the Southern Liang capital, while she is a defeated country's Noble Consort, fleeing in a desperate state with a child.

At sunset, he finds her hidden among the artificial rocks, nursing the little one, who is barely a hundred days old. He smiles through gritted teeth.

"No wonder I couldn't find you, Sister. You were hiding in the palace, raising this little beast."

"You only care about feeding the little beast. Have you forgotten whether I'm hungry or not?"

"If you like it, I'll conquer an empire and give it to you. Then we'll watch over the land together."

Lu Yuemian: There's no need to be quite so generous...

Theme: You are the reason I strive. I will protect and love you for all my life, and conquer the world for you.
