My name is Kitahara Sosuke.

Before I was given the name "Kitahara Sosuke," people called me "Test Subject No. 6." Don't get the wrong idea. It wasn't some terrifying human experiment. I was simply in a place called the White Room, competing fiercely and cruelly, striving to absorb all knowledge, with victory as the ultimate goal, while eliminating a few "failed" test subjects.

That said, the experiment didn't go on successfully either. Halfway through, Test Subject No. 1 caused a disturbance and escaped, and I slipped out amid the chaos too.

After that, I came to Yokohama, where a kind old man named Kitahara took me in and gave me the name "Kitahara Sosuke." I started living the ordinary life I'd long yearned for.

Now I'm studying at Yokohama High School, enjoying an absolutely wonderful youth as a high schooler.

This is the story of how I changed from a "replicant" into a "human being."

A few things to know before reading:

1. The protagonist is an original character. The White Room is just background.

2. First-person perspective.

3. My writing is at an elementary-school level, and there's no guarantee I'll finish the story.

4. I'm writing this out of love, so comments are much appreciated.

5. The pairing is Dazai. There may be a romance, or I may end up writing it as friendship. The pairing is Schrodinger's cat.
