Heroine's Version:
"No assassin can leave the Heavenly List alive," Xie Wuxiang told me. "But I can give you your freedom."
He said he would set me free, but after I completed my final assassination mission, he personally arranged to have me hunted down.
If the Heavenly List can't kill me, then it will have to bear the fury of my revenge.
When I reach it, I will kill Xie Wuxiang.
Hero's Version:
I was a talented scholar from Pingyuan, the youngest son of a wealthy merchant there.
In this era, the children of merchants were barred from the imperial examinations, so studying was useless. The talented scholar of Pingyuan became the discarded son of his family.
Then I met that woman. Her swordsmanship was peerless, and she killed quickly. I volunteered to be her strategist and set out on the path of revenge alongside her.
Studying was useful after all. Using my wits, I helped her destroy the greatest assassin organization in the martial world.
