They say girls mature early. Back in elementary school, Zhou Tao was already half a head taller than Chen Li.

He got teased about it by Zhou Tao all the way through graduation.

"How did you suddenly get so tall?" Zhou Tao asked, looking up at him in astonishment.

Chen Li didn't answer. Instead, he went on, "Do... you... like me?"

At his unexpected question, Zhou Tao nearly tripped.

After graduating from high school, the two applied to universities in different places, and they rarely got a chance to meet.

Four years later.

They met again when Zhou Tao went with a heartbroken friend to sing karaoke.

She stepped outside for some air and ran into a man in a black windbreaker, a black baseball cap pressed over his dark hair. His skin looked almost sickly pale.

Rain pattered outside beneath the gloomy sky. He leaned against the wall, head slightly bowed, a few drops clinging to his fringe and resting against his forehead.

One hand toyed with his phone, while the other rested halfway in his pocket. He looked every bit like someone whose sign read, "Do not disturb."

After a moment, Zhou Tao asked, half doubtful and half tentative, "Chen Li?"

At the sound of her voice, the man's finger stopped scrolling. Then he slowly raised his head.

His deep eyes met hers. His features were sharp, nothing like the boy she remembered.

"So you still remember how to call my name?"

"..."
