My Husband Secretly Kept a Mistress

After I married into the Marquis's household, Pei Linduan swore he would never take a concubine, but secretly kept a mistress.

When I was seriously ill, he said he was too busy with official duties to get away, but he was spending the night with that woman.

He kept his secret under tight wraps, convinced he had hidden it well.

Little did he know I'd already noticed the faint scent of powder on him.

I asked for a divorce, but he snapped, "She's just a low-class mistress, nothing more than a bit of fun. She's not even a concubine! I already promised never to take one. What more do you want from me?"

I saw him for who he was, and became all the more determined to leave.

Later, I petitioned the emperor for permission to divorce, but he stopped me, his eyes red. "Please don't go."

Too late.

(P.S. Don't worry, this isn't angsty. There are other novels available with a subscription on my profile too!)
