A Princess of Qiong Falls from the Sky (Tales of Xing Tang / Romance of the Sui and Tang Dynasties / Luo Cheng X Qin Qiong)

A grudge-fueled story inspired by being tricked by [You Beijun] into watching the 2013 Sui and Tang drama (the one with Kuan as the older cousin and Han as the younger cousin). A fun, outrageously melodramatic read.

△ The idea came from: “If we swapped County Princess Yu for County Princess Qiong, so many plot points would instantly make sense!”

△ The title came from a certain shipping meme You Bei made ages ago. I tweaked the name a little. The original was probably “Heaven Dropped a Lin Meimei.”

+++ Reader's notes below. I know my tastes are niche, so please don't argue with me. +++

△ The broad setting is based on the 2013 TV drama and a single-version storytelling style, with some elements from Xing Tang Zhuan mixed in. I might also throw in details from Tian's version of the storytelling at random...

△ The central pairing stays one-on-one throughout: one younger cousin from Xing Tang Zhuan versus three versions of the older cousin, namely County Princess Qiong, the innocent sweetheart, and memories of the older cousin from a past life. The plot follows the drama's main storyline, but there are countless original and reworked elements, so read with care.

△ County Princess Qiong is a man, a man, a man. The reason he is given the title “County Princess” will be explained later. The most important reason is my own mischievous preference: I want to see an imperial decree granting a marriage.

△ Feel free to picture the characters as they look in the drama, but don't come to me to discuss it. Han's performance is passable, but I refuse to accept his looks. I can accept Kuan in a heartbeat. However, the younger cousin is my favorite, so... shrug.

△ Beware of You Bei's recommendations. I still haven't finished writing that piece, Endless Words, and now I've started another one...
