I Worship Nuwa in the Interstellar Era

[Major revisions throughout, effectively like a regular ongoing serial. Revised sections will be marked. The leave-of-absence notice will stay up for convenience until I finish revising the current word count.] *In a World of False Gods, I Received a True God's Answer* Synopsis: There is no history of Earth in this interstellar world. Everyone has a god they believe in. As someone who transmigrated from Earth, I'm seen as a heretic who blasphemes against the gods. They told me to choose a god to worship. I refused: I was Nuwa's in life, and I'll be Nuwa's in death. Official Synopsis: Jiang Ai, a resident of Earth, transmigrated to the interstellar future. Here, civilization and technology have advanced tremendously, but people still worship the gods. The gods are real. Atheists are considered heretics, and anyone who fails to receive a god's response is exiled to Blasphemy Star. Their only chance to escape is the annual ceremony to worship the gods, where they must pray sincerely and hope for a response. Jiang Ai: You're making things difficult for a future pillar of socialist society like me. Driven to the brink, the only thing Jiang Ai could think of in that desperate moment was the Earth myth about Nuwa mending the sky. Your Majesty, if you really exist, please save this Earthling's life! Standing before the starstone used to worship the gods, she glimpsed an ancient deity. The compassionate goddess smiled as she gazed across the distant dimensions of time and space at the little creature who had accidentally fallen into another world. People across the stars had always known that receiving a god's favor meant giving up everything in return. But later, when Jiang Ai received Nuwa's blessing and rampaged across the stars, they asked her, "What price did you have to pay?" Jiang Ai: "She said I just have to be happy." The people of the stars: "?" * Reading notes: A feel-good story about saving the world. Nuwa is the highest-ranking creator goddess. She is central to the whole story, but rarely appears. Ensemble cast, made up of the old, the weak, the sick, and the pregnant. The heroine is weak at first. The couple is the weak one and the sick one. Romance is a small part of the story, with more emphasis on friendship among teammates. The plot comes first. Theme: Stay true to yourself and hold fast to your original aspirations.
