I haven't thought of a title yet, so I'll just put this idea here for now.
It's roughly about a future timeline where the tech tree has gone off course. After the heroine's friend is bullied to death at school, she makes a wish to an evil god who loves to toy with people's hearts (tentatively, an incarnation of Nyarlathotep): she wants all the other bullies to die in spectacular fashion. The evil god then holds a nationwide televised superpowered death game and brings the heroine in to avenge her poor friend.
The heroine's ability is tentatively the Complete Works of Lu Xun. Incantation-type powers just sound more exciting when spoken aloud.
