The Perfect Duo

Xu Ji, a standout survivor of the apocalypse, is struck by a meteorite and transmigrates to the Construction Department at Talia Military University.

In his first week of school, he becomes famous across the campus thanks to his gorgeous face (not).

As everyone knows, a brilliant constructor and an exceptional commander joining forces can destroy a complex "world."

After the first semester, Talia Military University calls in Xu Ji, the top student in Construction, and Qi Yan, the top student in Command, and looks at them expectantly.

Xu Ji politely declines. "Let's not."

Qi Yan looks bored. "Not interested."

As it turns out, no one expected these two to secretly get together.

During a full-immersion simulation, Qi Yan gazes impassively at cactus petals filling the sky.

System alert: "Your friend Xu Ji has entered this world."

In an instant, thousands of thorny branches spring up from the ground, embracing the falling blossoms, brimming with life.

A young man walks toward him through the fragments of the setting sun. His dazzling, warm light brightens Qi Yan's eyes.

"It's time to go home."

This remarkable pair of partners will be remembered forever in the history of the Federation. In an exceptionally rare move, the Federation's historians place their names side by side, through life and death, never to be parted.

"A true ending is when the commander finally finds a home for life, and the constructor at last finds someone like himself."

"Even the thorns and the cactus have finally found someone they don't want to hurt."

"Because they learned to love."

The Biography of Federation Generals Xu Ji and Qi Yan

Tips:

1. Xu Ji is from the apocalypse. He has a mental safe zone (the ability to predict danger) and psychic power (creating sensory illusions, constructing worlds, and modeling).

2. A "world" is a scenario, but worlds can restore themselves and retain memories. They are constructed by constructors.

3. Commanders have both individual combat and command abilities. Mechs appear in the story.

4. The military university has three departments: Construction, Mechanical Engineering, and Command.

5. Why is there a cactus in Qi Yan's "world"? Cactus is also called "fire plant" in Chinese, and Qi Yan is so sharp-tongued he might as well be a cactus (pointing fingers).

6. Set in a fictional world, with a mountain of headcanons.
