An if-modern-day version of the story next door, Acting Skills Showdown with My Green Tea Disciple. You don't need to have read the original. It's a slice-of-life story about a couple being affectionate.

Chong Chu transmigrated into a book and then came back, bringing a little tagalong with him: Lin Zhiyi, the male lead of the original story.

To survive, Chong Chu once played two roles in the book. He stabbed the protagonist, stole his fortune, turned him into a cripple, deceived him in both love and trust, and finally faked his own death.

Well, that's unforgivable.

Chong Chu watched the protagonist wake up after coming through with him. The man looked bewildered and asked, "Who are you? Where am I?"

Silently hiding his urge to call the police and send the man to jail, Chong Chu curled his lips into a smile and said, "I accidentally fell into the water, and you saved me. Thank you. I've already paid your medical bills. Goodbye."

As he opened the door to leave, the drenched puppy-eyed man watched his back with red-rimmed eyes, saying nothing.

Chong Chu didn't look back. The door slammed shut with a bang.

After being discharged, Lin Zhiyi stood helplessly amid the passing cars. Just as he was about to be hit, someone rescued him.

Chong Chu frowned. "Where are your parents? What about the System? Didn't it give you a character setting?"

"What's a System?" Lin Zhiyi tilted his head. "Handsome big brother, where should I go?"

"Forget it." Chong Chu's heart softened. "Stay at my place for a while. Once you find a job, move out. Got it?"

"Mm. Thank you."

The moment Chong Chu turned away, anger and desire roiled in Lin Zhiyi's eyes.
