The East Wind Is Cruel

In the fifth year of their marriage, Gu Yu brought his widowed sister-in-law into their home and doted on her in every way, even letting her walk all over Xu Qingru.

She asked for a divorce, but he refused.

"Your sister-in-law has no one to rely on but me. Why can't you make room for her?"

Later, bandits captured her and her sister-in-law, forcing Gu Yu to choose between them.

Without hesitation, Gu Yu chose his sister-in-law.

Xu Qingru was thrown off a cliff, and only then did he regret it.

(P.S. The inspiration came from those stories where the wife is just a prop in a widowed sister-in-law romance... The female lead didn't die. She'll come back for revenge.)
