Blurb One
Everyone says that Lian Huai, the greatest swordsman in the martial world, is cool-headed and upright, with a noble, unblemished character. He is a rare gentleman in this world.
When people look for a spouse, they all care about a woman's looks and birth. He only asks that his beloved be "kindhearted and mutually in love with him."
Cui Ying, the alluring demoness of the demonic cult, is blessed with peerless beauty and commands the countless treasures of the Bliss Hall. She can only say: ...What a coincidence. Kindheartedness is the one thing I don't have.
So she changed into plain clothes and pretended to be a frail orphan selling herself to bury her father, only to be harassed by a spoiled rich kid. Just as she hoped, he rescued her.
She clutched the hem of his robe and begged him to let her travel the martial world with him. The lovely tears glimmering in her eyes finally softened his heart.
From then on, a gentle, frail, innocent, and adorable beauty was always by Young Master Lian's side.
As for the ruthless, unpredictable demoness of the cult, whom everyone feared to even mention, what did she have to do with Cui Ying?

After confirming that the Exquisite Jade was indeed in his possession, Cui Ying sent Lian Huai a letter, claiming that she had been kidnapped by members of the demonic cult and asking him to rescue her from the Pagoda of the Buddha.
She set trap after trap throughout the pagoda, waiting for him to get caught so she could force him to hand over the Exquisite Jade.
She never expected his martial arts to be so formidable, or for him to disregard his own safety completely. Even covered in wounds, he charged all the way to the top floor to save her.
She had no choice but to draw a few cuts on herself with her sword, letting the blood flow so she would look as though she'd been tortured.
But then his eyes narrowed slightly, and he sighed. "If you're only pretending, you could have just dabbed on a little paint. Why put yourself through all this?"
Blurb Two
Since entering the martial world, Lian Huai had never lost. The only person to defeat him was Cui Ying, the heartless demoness of the demonic cult.
He loved her and doted on her, but he knew she was only using him and had not fallen for him in the slightest.
After he was poisoned by the Bliss Hall's aphrodisiac, he woke the next day to find bloodstains on the bed. In a moment of impulse, he raised his sword to take his own life, but she threw her arms around him and stopped him.
"How could you be so cruel... Do you want me to become a widow while you're still alive?" She had never been so distraught, her eyes brimming with tears as she practically begged him.
For the first time, he realized that she could cry in earnest, too.
Little Scene
On their wedding night, Cui Ying took out a pair of Gu worms.
"I don't trust anyone. If you want to be my husband, I'll put the mother worm inside me and the offspring worm inside you. If you ever lose your love for me, the offspring worm will eat your heart and kill you."
Lian Huai smiled calmly. "You're frail. Raising Gu worms might interfere with your blood circulation. Why not give me a dose of poison instead, and give me an antidote each year to temporarily suppress it?"
Cui Ying smiled sweetly. "That works, too."
Even after they grew old together, she never told him that the pills she gave him each year were nothing more than ordinary qi-tonifying pills.
"I have only ever cried in front of you, Young Master. In front of anyone else, I could only shed blood."
