The Beloved Little Junior Disciple Saves the Tragic Villain

Please add my upcoming story, When the Demon Realm's Undercover Agent Kills the Dark Moonlight, to your favorites!

[Synopsis]

Ye Chenwei, junior sister of the Shanhai Sect, is sweet, soft-spoken, and adorably naive. She's exceptionally talented, born into a noble family, protected by her master and senior brothers above, and doted on by her entire sect below. Her biggest daily worry seems to be how to make herself seem a little colder.

Only Ye Chenwei knows that she's actually a supporting female character in a romance novel: the kind who never competes with the male lead, only torments the villains, and dies a terrible death in the end.

One day, Mu Zhijing, the legendary future villain, arrives covered in wounds and deathly pale, respectfully offering Ye Chenwei his own freshly severed fox tail to make her a cape. Ye Chenwei flicks her whip and takes it all in stride.

Fortunately, she has the ultimate cheat: System A Li.

A Li wears many hats. It has to keep her from going out of character, help her come up with plans to win people over and dodge the plot, and, most importantly, listen to its "aloof" Host's inner complaints.

Ye Chenwei is forced through many plotlines where she torments the villain, and most of her complaints to A Li are about Mu Zhijing.

"A Li, Mu Zhijing is so silly. Why doesn't he dodge?"

"Dodging would only bring harsher punishment."

"A Li, Mu Zhijing has it so rough. He never lasts even three seconds before apologizing again."

"He who understands the times is a wise man."

"A Li, A Li, Mu Zhijing must like Sister Qiao Jing. He keeps staring at her!"

A Li: "He doesn't like her."

Ye Chenwei is surprised. "Huh? Why not? How do you know?"

The System's voice is ethereal and distant. She hears A Li chuckle softly. "Mu Zhijing later gave himself the name Mu Li."

"Which Li?"

"The Li in A Li." The Li in the first glimmer of dawn.

Reader's guide:

[Upcoming story]

Yuan Qingxu is the youngest headmaster of Yunshan Academy. She is cool, forthright, and clear about whom she loves and hates.

Once the darling of her sect and now respected by the academy, her life has always gone smoothly, and everyone envies her. Then, while out exorcising demons one day, she rescues the boy Zhen Zhou as he struggles in the mud amid a torrential downpour, simply because his eyes look so much like someone from her past.

She thought she had long since forgotten that person, yet her heart is stirred all the same. She takes the boy home and carefully cares for him, finds him immortal herbs, treats his chronic illness, and teaches him cultivation techniques. With all her might, she helps him climb to the summit of the immortal mountains and become a young prodigy whom everyone envies.

When the tip of Zhen Zhou's blade sinks into her heart without hesitation, all her senses go numb.

It turns out Zhen Zhou is no innocent boy with a tragic past. He is the Demon Realm's most mysterious guardian, and he crippled his own meridians to get close to Yuan Qingxu, all so he could break the Demon Lord's seal.

On the judgment platform, Yuan Qingxu sweeps her sleeve and blinds him, then leaves without a word.

From then on, the immortal sects lose a young prodigy, and the endless abyss gains a silent scavenger.

Zhen Zhou went undercover beside Yuan Qingxu on the Demon Realm emissary's orders, at first only to win his freedom.

Yuan Qingxu pitied him only because his eyes let her look at someone else. He knew it, yet gradually lost himself in her.

He gives up the freedom he once longed for most and endures the Demon Realm's ghostfire burning him day and night.

After a trial, he loses his sight and everything else, falling into the endless abyss. For a hundred years, the only thing he has done is water the spiritual medicine that heals his heart with his blood. But even when he crawls up the heavenly stairway with nails piercing his flesh, until his kneecaps shatter, not a sliver of light ever escapes through Yuan Qingxu's door.

Reader's guide:

1. A beloved, lovesick dark moonlight and a gentle, devoted, beautiful, strong, tragic man. Happy ending.

2. A sweet, angsty, healing story, with plenty of suffering for the male lead. He'll suffer even before the groveling arc begins.

3. The male lead never wants the female lead to be hurt. There are hidden circumstances, and later he will hate himself more than anyone else does.

4. The names were inspired by the Former Ode on the Red Cliffs: "A cool breeze comes softly, the water lies still" and "We lie side by side in the boat, unaware that the east is already growing bright."

Theme: Cast aside prejudice, refuse to submit to a destiny already decided, and fight on
