At twenty-six, Wen Ruowen married Xie Zihua in a whirlwind wedding.
She had been secretly in love with him for three years, ever since she fell for him at first sight while overseas.
A month after Wen Ruowen returned home, her parents pressured her to go on a blind date.
To her surprise, her date was Xie Zihua.
Xie Zihua needed to placate his parents, so the two sat in Wen Ruowen’s studio. The man asked outright, “Will you marry me?”
Wen Ruowen knew he was tired of endless blind dates.
As she liked him, it all fell into place. Thirty minutes later, they were married.
Before the wedding, they made three rules:
1. They would act like a loving couple in front of both sets of parents.
2. They would keep each other’s identity private in public.
3. They would never interfere in each other’s private lives.
Six months into their marriage, Wen Ruowen was targeted by a rich young man at a private auction.
Drenched from head to toe, she hid in a corner of the hotel.
Xie Zihua suddenly appeared. For once, he set aside his usual coldness and brought her a change of clothes.
“Change first.”
Unable to resist her curiosity, Wen Ruowen glanced at the brand name on the paper bag.
Before she could say anything, the man bent down and carried her into a guest room.
At a Xie family dinner, the elders doted on the newlywed couple.
Xie Zihua’s voice was gentler than usual. “There’s no rush. We want some time alone together.”
The elders were stunned. Hadn’t he been reluctant to marry in the first place?
Now he was so attentive to his wife. It really wasn’t like him.
After the family dinner, Xie Zihua pulled Wen Ruowen into a dim corner and kissed her without restraint, until she could hardly breathe.
His warm breath brushed her ear as his low voice murmured, “Mrs. Xie, I can’t live without you.”

At twenty-five, Shen Qingyue married her childhood friend, Huo Qiting, to fulfill the wishes of their elders.
After seven years apart, they reunited and began their married life together.
To Shen Qingyue, a marriage where they treated each other with respect was already a good outcome.
She never expected Huo Qiting to look after her so attentively every day, shedding the aloof image he showed everyone else.
After they married, he was always by her side, steady and gentle. She couldn’t find a single fault in him.
Huo Qiting had always been composed and in control of every situation.
That was, until they attended their teacher’s birthday celebration together, where a tipsy classmate couldn’t hold back from confessing his feelings to Shen Qingyue.
Their former class monitor also revealed that Huo Qiting had been secretly in love with Shen Qingyue for years.
For the first time, Huo Qiting grabbed her wrist in front of everyone and pulled her into his arms.
Everyone held their breath. Huo Qiting leaned close to Shen Qingyue’s ear and whispered, “Wife, you can only love me.”
Shen Qingyue had never imagined that, long before she knew it, he had already fought to restrain himself countless times.
Huo Qiting lowered his head and kissed her. His scorching kiss fell on her lips, and though he had kept his distance for years, he seemed almost out of control now.
Everyone heard Shen Qingyue’s gentle voice by the man’s ear: “Husband, I love you.”
“I don’t just want to hold the moon in my arms. I want to make it mine alone. - Huo Qiting”
