Six-year-old Bai Yu is a boy unlike any other. He has red hair and blue eyes, and his skin never tans. Grandma says he has a kind heart, Grandpa says he's a little dim, his uncle the forest ranger says he's got a deep intellect, and his eight-year-old cousin says his neural transmitters are slow.
Grandma says Bai Yu's father went to be with God and his mother is working far away. But Bai Yu knows Grandma is only trying to comfort him, because he's never seen his mother, and she has never called him. His mother must have gone to Meng Po's place to drink the forgetfulness soup. Bai Yu is a little sad that his parents aren't together.
But then, one day, his mother comes home...
This book follows Bai Yu, a first grader in Songquan Town, and the joys and sorrows he shares with his family and neighbors over the course of a year. It's heartwarming, healing, and funny.
Oh, and Bai Yu has a special friend in the forest.
Theme: The warmth of family lasts a lifetime
Because "Komori in Early Summer" has been the priority recently, "Boys Between Pines and Springs" has been updated from time to time. I hope that students who have already collected it don't mind. I am too busy and have no time to spare, but I promise that I will update it to the end and will not leave holes unfilled.
