I'm a designer of dating games.
The System assigned me one job: get players to spend, get players to spend, and get them to spend as much as possible!
I worked diligently until retirement. According to the rules, I should have received a generous pension, plus one husband of my choice.
But the System clearly planned to welch, and even extended my contract by another thirty years.
So I blew up the System.
Following the chaotic currents of collapsing space, I rushed into the game, ready to grab a husband and make a run for it.
I found the man of my dreams.
I remember the design department had an unreleased super-SSR CEO.
His voice was more seductive than any previous model, his android body was better than any previous model, and his character art was an unprecedented masterpiece.
The kind you can't pull without spending millions. Just look at that face! Those pecs! Those long legs!
It had to be him!
He was probably still asleep because he hadn't finished being designed.
Tsk, even XXXXXL couldn't contain that shape (blushing).
I touched him again and again, then felt a mass of tentacles behind the CEO.
The tentacles slowly wrapped around my arm.
So smooth, so passionate.
...?
It's a new skin I haven't seen before (confirmed).
Time was short, so I stuffed him into a sack, hoisted him over my shoulder, and ran.
Ha! You trash System, you owe me wages and held up my retirement. See you never!

Meanwhile, in the infinite-horror world next door to the dating-game world
The players were wailing in despair.
They were trapped in a guaranteed-death scenario.
The pitch-black bronze door was about to unleash the evil god's full-screen annihilation attack.
No resurrection items, teleportation devices, or invincibility skills would work. It was the most terrifying disaster in gaming history.
The kind even the System couldn't do anything about.
Then the players cried for ten minutes.
And cried for another ten minutes.
They had even written their last letters.
The evil god's room was eerily quiet.
Finally, a fearless warrior pushed the door open.
The room was empty.
All that remained was a gaping hole in the wall where space had collapsed.
And a trail of water stains on the wall, left by something dragged away by its tentacles.
"So where's that huge evil god?!!"

(The main story is told in third person.)
(A designer returning to her old profession VS a CEO who, for some reason, has tentacles.)

The cover shows the recipient. The title is too embarrassing, so I'm not putting it here. (
