I Turned My Life Around Through the Imperial Exams

The princes fought for power, and loyal ministers suffered.

The once glorious General Ximen's residence fell overnight. Every member of the Ximen family, all three hundred of them except Ximen Junyao, was executed.

She went from a noblewoman in the capital to a convicted criminal. The authorities turned a blind eye to her pleas, and although everyone knew it was a conspiracy, no one dared to reopen the case.

She endured every hardship because of this trumped-up charge.

With nowhere else to turn, she picked up a pen, entered the academy, and pursued a career in government. If no one would clear the Ximen family's name, she would do it herself.

When Ximen Junyao was a noblewoman:

"Sister Yao, I'm here!"

When Ximen Junyao became a commoner:

"Sister Yao, I'm here!"

When Ximen Junyao became a powerful minister:

"Sister Yao, I'm here!"

Her life was so unfortunate: as a child, her entire family was wiped out. And yet her life was so fortunate: someone stayed by her side and never left.
