Tao Jiang tells a friend about the person in her dreams. He's utterly carefree, yet somehow remembers every member of their public lecture project group's drink preferences down to the last detail.
Her friend teases her. "Maybe he's secretly in love with you and trying to win you over."
Tao Jiang laughs it off. She's too much of a couch potato to dare dream of such a thing.

As soon as Tao Jiang returns to the country, an old classmate drags her to a matchmaking dinner, where she happens to run into Qin Chen.
The carefree boy she once knew is now composed and refined. In a casual tone, he says, "Why don't we give it a try?"
With a little hope in her heart, Tao Jiang goes with him to register their marriage.
They agree to take their marriage seriously.
Health-conscious Tao Jiang can't stand Qin Chen's workaholic ways, so she suggests that he eat well, drink enough water, and work in moderation.
Qin Chen does everything she suggests. With a faint smile, he says, "Mrs. Qin, why didn't you mention getting enough sleep?"

One day, Qin Chen, the gaming world's acclaimed genius systems architect, reposts a food blog post Tao Jiang wrote six years ago.
Lazy Jiang Is Dreaming Again Today: "I dreamed about him today. I looked up what dreams like that mean. Some say it's because the other person is thinking of me too, while others say it's because we're drifting apart. I guess it's probably the latter."
Qin Chen adds: "It's the former. He's been thinking of you all along, too."
"We agreed to be a courteous couple, but my heart broke that promise and said it had loved you all along."
An urban romance about two people who have secretly loved each other and agree to marry first, then fall in love.
