A Guide to Raising Mushrooms for the Emperor

[A short story, just over a dollar for the full set. Your support is much appreciated~] Lin Ling is a little mushroom spirit growing on a beam in the Imperial Study. Every day, he watches the tyrant go about his business: confiscating estates, exiling people, and executing entire clans. The little mushroom has no particular opinion about this, except that his flowerpot, where he likes to bask in the moonlight, always gets caught in the crossfire. It gets sent crashing to the floor along with the memorials. So he complains about it in the tyrant’s dreams every day, and the tyrant gives him a new flowerpot. Lin Ling is up on the beam, gazing at his brand-new flowerpot and happily imagining himself living in it, when someone makes the tyrant angry again. The tyrant raises a hand, and Lin Ling immediately reminds him in a nervous little voice, “When you get mad and start smashing things later, please make sure you don’t throw my new flowerpot again.” The room falls utterly silent. In full view of everyone, the tyrant turns around and moves the flowerpot somewhere safer first. The ministers, trembling with fear and hardly daring to look, only realize belatedly that their decisive, bloodthirsty emperor is learning how to care for a soft, tiny mushroom. P.S. The dynasty is fictional, and the language is fairly modern. This is a sweet little bedtime story, perfect for lulling you to sleep.
