Reborn as the Sickly Young Master's Devoted Shadow Guard

Federation soldier 777 died fighting the insectoid race and was reborn in the body of a child who had starved to death. To stay alive, 777 latched onto the sickly young master he happened to meet and became the young master's head bodyguard.

Oh, right. At the moment, he's the only member of the bodyguard squad.

777: Federation soldier 777 will remain loyal to you forever, until the end of his life.

Following the customary Federation enlistment oath, 777 made a few changes and swore it directly to his current superior.

The loyal and obedient Federation soldier 777 didn't notice the dark, predatory gaze in his sickly superior's eyes.

Song Yu, his current superior and the former Prince Li, smiled gently: "Good boy!"

*

In his previous life, Song Yu had exhausted himself for the sake of the entire Song family, working like an ox and a horse and laboring for them despite his poor health. He had raised the Song family from a minor clan on the verge of being struck from the register to a great family on par with the Wangs and Xies. What he didn't know was that he was merely the civet cat in a switch-the-prince plot. On the very day the emperor made him a marquis and arranged his marriage, the Song family, coveting the title he'd won at the cost of his life, poisoned him to death.

Reborn, Song Yu's eyes were full of malice. This time, he would make the Song family fall into the mud just as surely as he'd once led them to glory.

As for the little bodyguard who'd appeared along the way... Song Yu thought nonchalantly that keeping him around for a change of pace might not be a bad idea.

Later, Song Yu lay in bed, watching 777 attend to him, and pressed him for an answer. "If someone else had saved you back then, would you have given that person your whole heart too?"

777 opened his dark eyes and answered faithfully, "But there is no 'if.' You were the one who saved me."

So for the rest of his life, he would serve Song Yu alone, and never betray him, even unto death.
