Tang Shuhuo walked into a city.
Thorns grew wild across the black city walls, and the White Rose Tower stood against the light at the heart of a sea of flowers that had grown weary of the world. The setting sun melted into gold as dusk gathered. A white resting bird spread its wings and rose from the High Priest's shoulder.
It skimmed the eaves of the wilderness temple, gazing down at the newly kindled lights, scattered like stars, inside the pitch-black cage;
