A self-effacing, patient, devoted Alpha guide gong x an oblivious, flirtatious Omega sentinel shou who can bring the world crashing down with a gesture. Not human.
A thousand years after the zombie virus erupted, the Ark’s energy ran out. As the only guide among the Alphas, Carnes boarded a ship with the sentinels, bound for their home planet to search for energy and a chance at survival.
But the ship exploded as soon as it landed.
As he lay dying, Carnes saw a sea of zombies swarm toward him.
But he didn’t die.
The person who rescued him had almost no background to speak of. He didn’t even know he was an Omega. Just as Carnes discovered that he was a sentinel, the young man named Samuel entered his first heat.
The unfamiliar sensation of being overwhelmed by pheromones, along with his sentinel mental form running wild, left Samuel unable to resist his instincts. Straddling Carnes’s chest, he gripped his throat, eyes bloodshot, and gritted his teeth. “Help me...”
Even knowing that Samuel might be humanity’s only hope, Carnes chose to mark him.
The young man’s fair nape was pierced and branded with Carnes’s mark.
Carnes felt he wasn’t worthy of Samuel.
As an Alpha, he lacked the powerful will and combat ability of a sentinel.
As a guide, he lacked the gentle pheromones and guidance of an Omega, which could comfort a sentinel.
“You deserve someone better. Once we’re back with the organization, I’ll have your mark removed. You...”
Samuel answered with a merciless punch.
“If I hear you say that again, I’ll make sure you never find me.”
Carnes shook his head. “I’ll be sentenced to death. Then I’ll be the one who can’t find you.”
Samuel gripped his chin and kissed him. Amid the spreading taste of blood, he made his promise: “As long as you’re alive, you’ll be able to find me.”
As expected, after the Ark arrived at the home planet, Carnes was immediately taken in for questioning as soon as he returned to the organization. The charge: “Why did you disobey orders and mark the mission target?”
Only then did Carnes learn the real mission: capture It alive. Beware. It is omnipotent, almost like a god descending upon the world.
And Samuel was sent by Carnes’s own hand to the laboratory. Before Carnes could regret it or turn traitor, Samuel merely moved a finger, triggering landslides and natural disasters. Then came It’s “terms for cooperation.”
Bound from head to toe in the laboratory, the young man smiled without a care. “You want to study me? Sure.”
“Let him come see me.”
“I’m not safe when Carnes isn’t here.”
Humanity’s last hope, a future god, was hopelessly devoted to a useless Alpha, a guide with absolutely no self-esteem.
