A purely sweet, short story. “Why are your ears always red?” Jiang Yan lay on the desk, quietly watching the curve of Lin Shu's ear. A faint blush spread from his ear to his neck, then crept across his cheeks. Lin Shu touched it without thinking, looking a little dazed. “What?” Jiang Yan's expression was calm, his eyes seeming veiled by a thin mist. “Every time you look at me, I know you're looking at me.” That expression was Lin Shu's deepest impression of him. He seemed to have always been quiet and taciturn. In a lively classroom full of over-the-top gossip and jokes, even when people made a fuss over him winning yet another competition, he would only look on calmly, unmoved. It seemed nothing could ever stir his emotions. Perhaps this was what it meant to be so outstanding that you'd grown used to it, to reach a certain level and become indifferent. At that moment, his eyes were hazy with sleep, and a smile slowly spread across his face. Their eyes met. In that instant, Lin Shu felt that all the beauty in the world was nothing compared to this. Lin Shu thought that every chance encounter in the classroom, on the sports field, and in the library had been carefully arranged by him. He didn't know that the other person had been planning it all for a long time. Reader's Guide: Updates whenever inspiration strikes. Just writing for fun. No paid chapters before completion.
